Your 1971 SIII is very early and I believe the SII CLub will do a vehicle inspection for that vehicle - for a fee.
Join the S2C forum and ask, maybe? They have a number of regional inspectors. The DVLA accept what the S2C say, so if it passes their inspection you should be OK. |

IIRC the series 2 club can do vehicle dating on any series 3. 2011 110 USW

Update 20 odd years off the road, spent a few weekends replacing seized wheel and clutch cylinders sorted out a jammed throttle.
Now road legal and as I pulled out on the road a lovely restored Wolf and 2020 defender stopped to let me out. |
