yes, and you will be using the d2 v8 manual bell housing.

If you're putting in a disco V8 the simpler route is to get it intact with the bellhousing, clutch gubbins, slave and gearbox.
Alternatively you'll need to change and swap out:

As above, there a many ways of doing it, some involve new mounts (and therefore props).
I've chosen to go down the route of a D1/Defender V8 bell housing, new input shaft and associated bits as this keeps the engine and box in the 'factory' position within the chassis and reduces the amount of faffing around you need to do. Depending on the way you choose to go, I may have some of the bits you'll need. A small number of V8 defenders were supplied with R380s but, they were more commonly supplied with LT77/LT85 boxes. The TD5 R380 (should be suffix K or L) is a good choice as they are stronger than their predecessors. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" |

What are you fitting them into Hufflepuff? If your gearbox is in the same place props will align of course. JB

I'm replacing the noisy old standard LT85 with an uprated Ashcroft R380, supplied with what we hope is a suitable bell housing. I am aiming to bring a bit of sophistication to the 110

It’ll fit. Chill the bubbles.
Gearbox mounts are even the same in the forward position and the seat box has the bulge next to the handbrake. Props are close enough not to matter. JB @Lodelaner Instagram Youtube greenlaning and other LR related content |

I've got a new seatbox in the mail from YRM. By the time I'd added in the end plates, the two extended boxes and the front plate, it was not much more to get a full new one from them for the R380. Must admit I didn't realise the LT85 was the same cut out though, that might have swayed the decision.
Thanks for the info on the fitment, bubbles on chill. 2005 Td5 90 XS 1989 V8 110 CSW |
