Sounds like you have an ignition feed issue to the instrument pack as most of those you mention are switched on the ground side so require a 12V feed to start with.
Is it using Td5 type instruments or the pre-Td5 type? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

In the RAVE manual, go to the wiring diagrams. You will see Td5 and 300Tdi mixed in with the Td5 wiring diagrams there.
Those 300Tdi diagrams are for the last 300Tdi's made. Mine is 2006/7 model and I use it a lot. |

At the grey dash plug, check for ignition 12V supply to pin 1 (the pin numbers aren't marked, so look for a ). Should be WHITE or WHITE/GREEN wire, but might be another colour on a military loom.
To help you find the correct pin number, looking into the non-wire side of the plug on the bit coming from the bulkhead (not on the instrument pack), with the clip on the top, pin 1 is top left. Click image to enlarge Find pin 1 and write it on the plug with a marker pen Do the same for the smaller black warning panel connectors, pin 1 of the 16 pin and pin 16 of the 20 pin are 12V ignition feeds. Again, holding these facing you with the clip on the top - pin 1 is top left. On the "civvy" late ROW 300 Tdi these feeds have a common fuse (fuse 15) but who knows on the military one 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

On military spec wiring the ignition feed is likely to be plain GREEN 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

This may or may not help you but way back when in the dealership, when we got the first late 300Tdi engines, there were problems with the harness inside the dash being wrong and among other things I know it screwed up the temp gauge. There are 2 different types of harness, can't recall the part numbers now but I know a Td5 one didn't work with a 300Tdi installation. ---

As the Snatch is a 24 volt vehicle I thought the dash was all 24 volt (some of it worked) I took a standard TD5 defender dash apart to have a look and found the gauges are the same as the Snatch ones (12 volt) it took a while to click but i found a empty plug that should have a voltage dropper pluged in once pluged in every thing worked as it shoud
This is very good but I cannot work out why half the dash would be 24 volt and half 12 volt. |
