TD5/TDCI auxillary switch alternatives?
Just wondering if there is a cheaper alternative to the TD5 style dash switches.

I want to put a nice work light switch in as per picture.....but £25 seems expensive.

Is there any alternatives? I keep looking on ebay but £25 seems the going rate for it.

I want to keep it on the dash if possible.

Thank you. Thumbs Up

That switch is doing my heated windscreen.
All my switches are doing something now Big Cry

There is 2 blank holes left which I could modify for normal switch. Just wanted to keep it looking orginal.

I might be unlucky, but I have had the backlight and led illumination fail twice on non-genuine repro spot light switches. Both failed after not much time. I don’t know if there was ever a genuine LR switch in the type you need, but I would say it is worth the extra if there is. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

There will almost certainly be a LR switch that can perform the same function but not with the nice graphic on it. It is now possible to buy just the switch covers with different graphics on but they're about £10 each. If you then have to buy a LR switch as well, even second hand, then it does make for an expensive combination. Darren

The best (and cheapest) combination is to use a Genuine Puma heated seat switch - YUF500150LNF

With the Bearmach switch front of your choice.

Bought a couple of the genuine heated seat switches a while back in preparation for a project. Rimmer Bros were the cheapest source then, not sure now though?

The HRW switch is wired exactly the same as the Puma heated seat switch, but uses the blue 5-way connector.

The TD5 (Defender and Discovery-2) heated seat switches, as well as the Discovery-2 cruise control switch are also wired the same.

RH heated seat switch uses the black connector

LH heated seat switch uses the green connector

Cruise control switch uses the white connector
