I agree, the latest generation Wrangler may not be the best in terms of accident and passenger safety, but I feel a lot safer in it than I ever did in the 110. At least it has an integrated roll cage and driver/passenger air bags. In a roll over, I know which I would rather be in !! The Euro spec versions do come with an obscenely large front bumper to assist with pedestrian impact as well, which must fare better in the collision tests than the US versions. Until Grenadier hits the streets, it is the closest "off the shelf vehicle" in my opinion to old Defender. |

I couldn't compete with the 5yr Disco 4 service plans, even if I owned the car myself The new service plans though, are just paying an inflated price over 2yrs for a sub standard service |

Three year warranty just is not good enough considering the price of the car. I remember I got a one year warranty on my 90 turbo diesel I bought in 1990! 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Agree. 3 years in this day and age is pretty poor, especially with the likes of Kia offering 7.

It would have been great to see a 5 year warranty on the defender and a good sell point. If the quality of my current car is anything to go by they are much better built coming out of the Europe factory than any of my British built land rovers I have owned there really is a notable shift which will hopefully filter through into land rovers reputation in years to come.
No expert in how it works but I guess the challenge with warranty is it needs underwriting in some way which could be a hurdle for Land Rover. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE RR MY23 HSE PHEV D5 MY19 HSE - Now Sold D4 MY16 HSE Luxury - Now Sold D4 MY12 HSE - Gone D3 MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten |

Toyota has 3 years and 5 years on engine/drive train. Which one would I buy, Toyota with shorter warranty, or Kia with longer warranty? I would choose To... change my mind, I choose a Defender, preferably pre 2007 with an expired warranty ;o) 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

..when i got my truck (MY 2014), warranty was 5 years on everything, or 300K km, whichever comes first..

In South Africa all new Land Rovers come with a 5 year / 100,000km warranty.
