Hi Guys,
Looking for advice as I understand not many people has the above issue previously, as well as the above I also have multiple other engine running issues. To check if it’s all down to the previous remap done, could I simply swap the ecu for a temporary one for test purposes? As i do also have another 2.2tdci defender with DPF, with standard map and would help to get to the bottom of the issue. However I understand the injectors are coded and I believe it’s interlinked to the alarm and immobiliser etc? Any help/advice would be helpful |

Have you discussed the problem with the people who remapped the ECU? Defender 90XS SW

Hi
Thank you for your message, yes I have (I don’t wish to publish the company/name to prevent any negative publicity for them). They are being quite slow to reply etc though, and I thought I’d use it on the car for temporary (hour or so) if it would be okay to swap them. To see if the one from the defender which I know is working 100%, has what type of affect on the one with the problems. If so, I can push onto the tuner to either help resolve it or simply remove the tune. However without doing something like this, it’s hard to blatantly say it’s the tune. My main concern being if I lock or damage the ecu or anything In the process? |

take it to a good independent 4x4 garage and pay them to fault find .quicker and easier and if its one of teh common faults they should know how to sort it
or remove the tune and start from there |

Definitely remove the tune if you can and see if the problem is still there. I know the remote tunes save a backup. But I assume you went to a centre and had it tuned there.

Swapping an ECU is not as easy as swapping the floor mats.
You'll have to renew the stored parameters. |
