Morning all,
I went ahead and switched my swivel pin bearings and upper swivel pins yesterday . My question is relating to the obvious difference between what came out and what went back in . The two pins are very different , is this okay ? The square shoulder is the the replacement. The reason I’m asking is because I’m getting a bit of swivel play , only perceptible when the wheel is back on and held at 12&6 o’clock ! Why on earth has my auto factor (landy specialists) given me the incorrect ones , they punch my number plate in and lob me a box ! It all came as a kit , will the bearings and cups be matched to the upper swivel pin ? If not can I just drop the original upper swivel pin back in ? Or are these completely different bearings and therefore require a strip back (not at all happy if so!) https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

The pin TAR100040 is shaped as it is because the inner bearing race is integral with the pin. The others illustrated used a bearing with a conventional inner race.

If it's all fitted together and you have the right preload and no play then I can see no reason to change it.

Thank you , there’s a small amount of play amounting to a Very gentle knock when pulling/pushing either front wheel . But at the 3 o’clock / 9 o’clock position there’s nothing . Eliminating wheel bearings .
It is not noticeable without the wheel mounted . Swivel preload feels bang on . I’ve reshimmed Several times and have been unable to eliminate this . Looks like I may have to put the correct pins in . Do you think I can leave the bearing races in the swivel or will these be matched as per the wheel bearings ? https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

All parts of a bearing should always be replaced together.
