You could build a roof rack that goes around the outside of the canvas easily enough, a bit like this:

If you want to keep it standard looking from the outside you could fit heavier duty hoops. this one looks home made but i'm sure a roll cage manufacturer could make one if they're not already available.

Surely no one on this excellent forum would laugh at another member's suggestions or questions. Indeed I come here before I look something up on Google. Besides, as Confucius said (and as a very wise man I'm sure he'd have driven a Defender and been a Defender 2 member had he been about today), "The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who does not ask is a fool for life.” Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

On Defenders I've seen soft tops with racks, but they have the NAS style hoops with a rack on the roll over bars then ladders down to the chassis at rear. Not sure this would look right on a Series, but.... anything is possible!

In these days of scams and dodgey motors, I believe that if it seems too cheap to be true it probably is. However, I do kick myself occassionally when decent but cheap Land Rover get snapped up. They'll be another chance! James
