Removed centre tray and re-fitted the carpet around the gearstick that Morrisons couldn't be bothered to fit correctly after replacing the original clutch... had a wee look to see if all the bolts were there too. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

A quick measure of my standard cubby box reveals it's approx 27cms wide. The actual gap between the seats and seatbelt buckles is roughly 30 cms, the gap between the seat squabs is approx 36 cms.

Phew thats a relief. Its such a well made, sturdy looking cubby it would be a shame if I couldn't use it - and it was only £ 35 !

Many thanks MOG. I wish I could buy you a pint over the internet. Cheers Very Happy

Billing kit finally going on!
So, not technically but over the weekend and the days following I did this...

New CB radio to replace the old one that didn't work. A Cobra 19 DX IV EU

Steering guard...

Air scoops, wanted plain ones but none that I could see of this style...

Roof lights and light bar

Bull bars gone, and replaced with an A-bar. Incidentally, anyone got a recommendation for cheap, large spotlights or where to get some new mounting bolts for the 8" wipac 4x4's I had on before?

Here's how it looks so far...

Still loads more to do though! Very Happy

Oh, and she got a wash too!

Went to the dump and then picked up 300kgs of sand and cement.

What always suprised me is the way Defenders cope with heave loads - did'nt really notice anyt difference, just felt a bit more 'settled' on the rear springs. Ride height did'nt even seem to alter either. BM52

ordered an engine blanket from noisekiller. Bit expensive at £95 but with this and a couple of rolls of butyl flashing for the rear wheel arches (heard great reports on this stuff) it should be all the insulation I'll ever need. No point going too crazy with it.

Let me know how the butyl flashing tape works, ive thought of using that before but not sure how well it will work.

Just returned from a week in the Conwyn vally saw loads of PUMAs both farm hacks and tourers as well as lots of other landies, classic cars etc etc. Now upto 1900 miles and not missed a beat yet, rear seat passenger was quite happy with comfort even on 3 hr journey there and back sat at 70mph on the motorway most happily and can talk without shouting. £60 of diesel only does 280 miles! will give it a mega clean today then back in the garage till the next holiday New Forest and Salisbury in October DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy
