Falken MT/01 vs Goodyear MTR Same Size 235/85R16

I am looking to buy a new set of tyres for my 90, but very undecided between the Falken MT/01 and the Goodyear MTR. For size, I like the 235/85, so no problem there.

I like the Defender Heritage look, and that looks to be with the Goodyear MTR tyre. But when I search google on Goodyear MTR tyre, I always get a different thread pattern, which in my opinion does not go with a 'Heritage' look.

I am kind of liking the Falken MT/01, pattern wise looks very similar, side wall maybe looks less aggressive.

What is the general opinion out there?

Paddock have both tyres. Anyone made a recent purchas of the Goodyear MTR from them? Did they get exactly as it is pictured? https://www.paddockspares.com/235-85r16-go...-only.html

Mud performance... I do not think the 90 will see a lot of mud, if any, so performance wise maybe noise can be a factor. But mainly I am more for the look of the tyre. As for life... will not see huge mileage, so life will be determined by tyre rot rather than wear.

I’ve had MTRs in that pattern and got about 30k out of them and they still had plenty of meat on them They are noisier than BFG ATs but I guess that’s to be expected. They were very good off road.

The picture on the Paddocks site is the current Goodyear MTR. They're good tyres, albeit noisy.

I've no experience of the Falcon but a quick 'net search suggests that it gets good reviews.

For the use you describe, it sounds like either would be suitable. Darren

Thank you guys for your replies. Yes, from reviews I read, Falken seem to be a good tyre.
Good to know that the link is for the current Goodyear MTR. The 90 spent quite a number of years on Firestone SATs.. i guess not many tyres beat those for noise. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Has anyone tried the 235/85/16 FALKEN WILDPEAK AT3WA all terrain?

Prices look reasonable, in fact about the Insa turbo ranger.
