All things being equal, I’d have been tempted to swap the engines... looks like a solid start being made though... good luck with it!

Yes, the engine and box were in good shape. Had a disco transfer box and new clutch as well. That said, I needed to get max money for it and leave more for toys on the 90 ![]() The 90 has a Richards chassis, lift kit, winch, rock sliders, masei panoramic windows, rear seats and a shocking home made centre console. I managed to get it for a shade over 4k so I am hoping to have it 'children and green lane ready' for under 5k. The clutch issue was the slave cylinder. I have replaced this and the flexi and it works OK now, albeit very heavy. I have a 300tdi pedal box on the way to see if that helps. It is now MOT'd having only needed a rear wheel bearing and a dash warning light for the rear fog light. It was hand painted and it seemed to be a mix of a textured finish and a slap-dash job. Been busy sanding ready for a roller and brush of satin orange. Goodies on the way include new door handles, lower door seals, vent seats (these were siliconed shut), swingaway wheel carrier (the rear door really suffered from the weight of the INSA turbo on the back) and some dash parts from Raptor engineering. Jobs in the next few weeks: Finish treating the rust on the tub capping and secure the hard top back on (awaiting some new studs) Finish sanding and get painting Sort the wiring and dash Proper defender seats back in instead of the freelander ones that were in it. Wheel carrier fitted Sort out the front door fitment Having taken the doors off I can now see that a repair has been done to the top bulkhead corners and for some reason the hinge nuts at the top are fixed in position leaving no adjustment. Need a plan to sort that - I have new cage nuts but can't fit them in. I'll take a few pics as we go. Big challenge is not getting too drawn into it. This is meant to be a spruce up not a resto. Already I am feeling the urge to fix the bulkhead tops and footwells. Must resist, need to make it usable first. |

![]() Click image to enlarge This is the bottom hinge which is how it should look. ![]() Click image to enlarge And this is the top one. Fettling required but not quite sure how I am going to allow adjustment here. |

Budged, welded and full of filler I recon. Taking a flap wheel tonight tomorrow to see what's what.
Yes, the 110 was on Ebay, sold on Sunday. Nice wagon, shame to see it go but the 90 should be fun and half the price ![]() |

A previous bulkhead repair pa el had been put on top of the old one and for some reason captive nuts were welded in! Hence no adjustment for the doors and iffy gaps.
Bit the bullet and cut the mess out. I'll make up a couple of infill panels and drill new openings for the cage nuts I have. Can then ensure the doors fit well before removing again and painting. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |

What roof rack is it on the 110 as I’m after something similar for my 90?

mpb, it is a safety devices expedition rack with the optional marine ply floor.
Nice bit of kit. Heavy but robust. For sale if anyone wants it ![]() |
