Very Upsetting but at least nothing too major and will look good again soon. Main thing is neither me or the other driver were injured in the crash. Thought I was fairly close to injuring him after the crash!
Late night fitting the dog guard in, looks smart I think and it has a bracket so you can just unscrew it with out any tools if you don't want/need it up. You can see the headlining in these shots, makes such a difference to the interior. Just need to find some/order some Interior lights and brackets for the holes. Couple of small bits done today, matching black suede sun visors in, which look very smart please with the quality from OEM. Fiddly to get the screws in the right place.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Bits of windscreen channel trim came to tidy that up, pleased about that as I had duct tape either side for the Mot. Work Light, Gps and Reversing camera all tidied away Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Also been driving around with no spare wheel, as the 5th wheel didn't come with a tyre. Got a fresh tyre on there today and put the spare wheel carrier back on. Jobs for the weekend... look into the why the heater has stopped blowing 'hot' air and fit axle breather kit, ahead of a green laning trip to Salisbury plain the following weekend. |

Found the reason the heating wasn't working... Checked my coolant tank and it was empty !
After some investigation I found the cause of the leak, the water pump was knackered and it was quite literally dripping out of the bleed hole. Got hold of a new water pump yesterday, thankfully they aren't too expensive. Looking in the Haynes manual doesn't seem too difficult, probably just fiddly job as per usual. Click image to enlarge |

To update this thread, the grey Landy was sold a few years ago. A few discovery's and a Series 3 in between but I'm back with a TD5 !
A fantastic 2 owner, 90k miles, fsh, never welded example. Started it's life in the RAF as a glider support vehicle, so it's been through Special Vehicles. Then owned by the same lady ever since, until I bought it this week! Lot's of plans and parts already ordered and excited to get going ! |
