Rock slider fitting problem

My 110 has side lockers which protrude lower than the sill. I've bought some rock sliders which won't fit because of this. Has anyone modified rock sliders to suit? I was wondering about cutting off the back section of the sill bit and the rear hanger but I can't decide if this will turn them into expensive trash. Returning them is a nightmare at the moment and they weigh a ton!

How much do you use the lockers?

Could you remove them and panel in the hole left behind? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I think removing so much of the rock slider box section will weaken them considerably. Essentially you would just be left with the tube and a piece of plate for the rear-most third of them. If you only wanted to fit them as a visual enhancement, then that would probably be OK, but if you intend using them 'in anger' then I would think that the rear section will be too weak. The tube will deform more easily than the box section, potentially causing more damage to the rear bodywork than if they hadn't been fitted.

I'd be inclined to return them and re-coup the investment than end up with an unsatisfactory compromise, unless as Grafty says you remove or reposition the lockers instead? 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

In that case I think it comes down to how much you want a storage locker for your pedal lock?

If you can find somewhere else to store the pedal lock then it wouldn't be difficult to remove the locker and fit the sliders as intended. Alternatively you may be able to find a smaller locker to put in its place Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Return those sliders and get some custom made.

You will not find any off-the-shelf product that will work, so either those sliders or the locker has to go!

you need a custom set for ex utility 110 or find a welder fabricator near you that can make what you.

whitbread 4x4 could make them while you wait so you could explain what you want as could other small fab shops

I remember that this 110 was featured a few years back. At the time the side box was moved up to allow the rocksliders but I am guessing from your pictures that you don't have the space to do likewise...

That looks like an after market side locker.

Im assuming they're the 60mm rock sliders from shire fabrications? (I've just put a set on my 110).
Give them a ring as they're not a million miles from you and they also do custom stuff.
