Front and rear anti roll bars

When I bought my 99 300tdi csw it never had the roll bars fitted - I presumed they had been removed by the previous owner. Anyway I’m thinking I’d like to refit them so I checked out the mounting points the other day, the back ones are fine and look ready to have it refitted. However on the front the brackets are present on the axle but there are no mounting points on the chassis like these

The only mounting points I can see is these - sorry for the poor photo, which I presume are for something else, as they look set to far back.

I know you can buy the weld on mounting brackets to weld to the chassis, so that one option, but was just wondering the reason for it, was there a different front anti roll bar set up on earlier models? Thanks in advance. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

I don't have anti roll bars on my 90 but my new (300TDi) chassis has them fitted, I assume these are the front ones you are referring to (just behind & below the engine mountings)?

Yes they are the ones, think I might order the weld on brackets, liking the gav chassis cheers. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Aintree Green

The brackets were standard fit from 94 onwards so yours have been cut off for some reason, or the chassis has been changed.

The weld on brackets are fine, I’ve fitted a few of them years ago when upgrading pre 300tdi chassis 90s to antiroll bars,well worth doing.

If you need antiroll bars, rather than pay through the nose for a set of defender ones, it is worth noting the tdi Discovery ones fit just fine (and are usually thrown in the scrap). You will need the 4 bolt U clamp for the rear from a defender though as the disco only used a 2 bolt clamp. The fronts are the same.

Laugh was, when i did this to my TDI, I only had the brackets for the front, Me and my mate later fitted the rear. We had to weld the rear brackets on the back. So looks like they must have added the full works on the later 300s, Mine was a 97 plater.
Funny thing was, it was the very last upgrade i did and never even got the use of
