Hi Glyn,
I am pleased with my c-tek, I have the 3600 but bigger is always better isn't it? 3600 is 3.6A and the 7000 is 7A. I use it for charging the battery while on electrical hook up and 3.6A is sufficient but I do wish I had gone for the larger. Good news your both reunited Steve edit; spelling! |

Hi Glynn, I use the cTek 7000 and think it is a good battery charger. The 7000 will take half the time to charge a flat battery as the 3600. The downside is that it costs about twice as much.
I will try and find out cost of postage to you later today. One question however is what is attached to the auxiliary battery to flatten it in 6 weeks? Brendan |

Hi Glynn
+1 for the CTEK chargers (I have a 3600). Good allround charger/conditioner I've also heard good things (but no personal first hand experience) about this one http://www.sterling-power.com/products-chargers-global.htm ...... aimed perhaps more at the marine market. It's more in the price league of the CTEK 7000 though but doesn't look as if it would compete with the 7000 for speed of charging.... Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Well, I would say that is a more than adequate thumbs up for the CTEK!!!
Thanks for all the replies. Looks like my mind is now set (Pretty much on the 7000). Since you are all in a more than knolwedgeable mood- My task for the afternoon is to remove a Brown Widow spider and her 7 eggs from the window hinge to my room....... anyone know the best way to do it?
Cheers for that Brendan, The BFPO Postage should be the same as in UK (Parcelforce 48 or Special Delivery)- also guarantees it comes on the plane rather than 6 weeks waiting whilst it is on the boat. Connected to the Auxilary whilst in the container were a GPS tracker and CB (off but in sleep mode)..... They are connected through a IBS split charge so don't know if the control box was taking a little juice too. Thanks again everyone. Glyn |

Glyn, will send you a pm later.
A 1500 battery is a 68 Amphr one. 68Amp hr divided by 42 x 24 hours would give 67mA. Am not sure if the IBS would take current from the second battery but would be conceivable for tracker and CB to take enough juice to flatten battery in that time scale. Sometimes our trucks are parked up for several weeks at a time and the clock/alarm flattens main battery. Advantage running twin Odysseys is I can use split charger management system and start off the second battery. Lesson don't wire anything into second battery which requires continuous current, or that is my theory anyway. Sorry can't help with Brown Widow except maybe a rolled up newspaper?? Brendan |

Spider issue? Tennis racquet does the job just fine! Alternatively find someone you don't like and coax it into their boot....Two birds one stone!
