**Wanted 90 Patriot Roof Rack**

Am well-aware that this is a long shot and that they can be rarer than rocking horse poo! Nevertheless it may be worth a 'toe dip' in the water metaphorically speaking!

As the title suggests! Before I possibly shell out a considerable amount of hard - earned from one of our sponsors who incredibly got back to me after my query within an hour of submitting my request for information at 21:42 last night!

Thanks Brendan! Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

He'll probably get it due to second hand availability (or rather lack of it) but at well over a grand it's worth using my apple sniffer to see if I can sniff out a bit of a Billy Bargain second hand.

Update!!!
Potentially I had two roof racks in the offing. A Hannibal from Kez and a Patriot from another forum member! Had teed up to go and view the pair today (if I didn't want the first viewed) as luck would have it Kez telephoned me to say he had sold his on E-Bay for the buy it now price! I did tell him to keep it on E-Bay to see if he would get the full price and naturally I was pleased for him as my price was considerably less.

That said the Patriot I viewed first was perfect for my needs at the right price. The brackets needed slight reprofiling as the TD5 from which it came has slightly different gutters than the Puma, the powdercoat on the brackets didn't like being bent slightly and was a little tired so they have been totally stripped and repainted with two coats of Plasti-kote undercoat and three top coat. Look like new! Kez is happy....I am happy....and........

Thanks Karlos! Thumbs Up Off to Germany again at the end of the year, took the Mini last time but they've had quite a lot of snow the last two years. I want to take the Land Rover so I can still get about and the rack will leave enough room in the truck to make it comfortable.
The rack I believe is like my steering guard...been abouit a bit, with a couple of historical forum member owners maybe, but in excellent condition! Laughing
Should never lose money on something like that! Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thanks! General condition is very good, just a couple of scuffs and a couple of chips on the rails that you don't see from below. Will use it a couple of seasons and see how it fairs through the Winters. Then maybe get it done later! The brackets are hung up on steel wire in my garage as I type having been 'titivated' (stripped and Plasti-koted) this afternoon.
Got an excellent powder coaters just up the road! Thumbs Up Only cost me £20 for the steering guard! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Well finally got round to resecuring the rack today (truck had sat there with rack on and no securing brackets fitted as they were in the garage - asking for trouble really but it is a two man lift).
Stripped and sprayed the brackets. A trait I noticed was that previously on tightening the brackets with protective rubber (bicycle innertube) on they had a tendancy to slip and splay a little. To counteract this I lined them with butyl pond liner that I had left over which I adhered to the brackets and 'sourced' some roller door polycarbonate wheels, sanded off one of the sides and fitted those to butt up against the rack to keep the bracket rod from moving inwards on tightening. Finally an M10 penny washer on top and new nylocks, tightened up no splaying or slipping and I reckon 'Job's a goodun!'
