Rear Wiper Not Working
Afternoon all,

Ever since I've owned my Defender (About 6 months) the rear wiper has not worked.
Originally when i looked the loom had broken between the door and rear light wiring, I fitted a new door loom and no difference.
Upon checking fuses, the rear wiper and heated screen fuses were both blown so I replaced. Heated rear window now powers up but the wiper fuse blows as soon as you try and use it.
I have fitted a new door recently with a newer wiper etc and still the same, so that rules out the door and door loom I would say?

Any common areas to look for another broken wire/short?

Thanks

Unplug the 6 pin plug (5 wires) to the rear door, and try it again. This will identify if the fault is in the door or the body loom.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Possibly seized wiper shaft. Although they have an o ring on the shaft, water gets past it and rusts it in the tube until it seizes.

as other have said fit a trip /reset fuse to the box so you dont keep blowing them .
unplug loom test for power if it blows you have a loom issue
unplug motor loom and try again
if it only blows when the motor is on try to free off the motor or fit a new one after checking earth's etc and for broken melted shorting wires where it passes thru the body to door part
