Time for a Change?

Sooo, in a fit of lockdown boredom, I thought I'd experiment with the look of the front end. Existing on the left and possible option on the right. It's a cheap aftermarket surround that's been prepped and painted satin black to match the grill.

Personally I prefer the black.

Mine came with silver grill and surrounds, I couldn’t wait to paint them as they look too plastic in my eyes.

Personal choice though

I like the black, but not entirely sure about it with the grey grill surround, your choice of course. Looks like maybe the sad face needs fixing? Rob

Just to be awkward I wouldn't go for either. I'd go back to totally grey, don't think the black headlamp embellishers go with grey so I'd change it back to all grey.

The one thing about Defenders is that they are so individual and reflect our own personal preferences. Defender 90XS SW

I was keen to do the grille surround black on mine like this, then totally forgot when I had it resprayed under warranty

Thanks but I really don't want a gloss finish. I like the more utilitarian look of satin. The only reason I've painted this one is because self-coloured black surrounds tend to fade after a while.

I think I'll prep and paint the other one up during the course of this week to see the full effect.
