Door card, alternative fixing method
Of course, half the fir-tree fixings on my door cards are broken and missing. Has anyone tried to do it differently? I’ve been thinking of drilling holes where each fir-tree is located and screwing the cards on with the screws threading into the plastic bushes in the door. I think If they were torx dome head stainless, it would look quite appropriate and be very solid.

you can do the drill and screw idea bu the plastic bushes will spin in the door. a better way is to rivnut your door and then use shiny bolts.
the downside is the door card is fairly flimsy.

i have seen them with fibreglass on the rear to fix them and add strength.

good clips work well for what they are

I had a load of broken clips when I took my door cards off. I followed this you tube vid and it seemed to work on most of them.

Not the greatest bit of design in the world though!

You can slam some roofing screws through in a temper but the final finish is a bit suboptimal Whistle

The video clip posted by JoolsB is spot on I've tried it and its a very good solution.

Only one word of warning and that the door card has very little depth in some places making it difficult to accommodate a screw so I've had in the thinnest parts had to cut the screw down to avoid it piercing the vinyl.

All the the best
