Keeping it quiet - budget sound deadening
In an effort to make the journey experience a little better we have stripped out the rear seats and added some sound deadening materials. After some research the decision was made not to take the expensive route with Dynamat or similar as the bus is often used hard.

Firstly the procurement process and eBay was the chosen tool. A collection of boxes and deliveries ensued with closed cell foam, industrial rubber mat and cheap carpet landing on the doorstep.

First step was to clean out the back of the bus. It's a factory CSW so has the full complement of folding seats:

Next was the closed cell foam - using a spray contact adhesive to help each panel was applied individually:

To save a photo of each stage the foam went up each side under the windows and finally onto the bulkhead:

The carpet was carefully cut to go over each side in one piece and with liberal application of the contact adhesive was glued in place and finished off with the chequer plate style rubber mat:

The last step was to put the seats back in - the decision has been made at this stage to leave the left hand seats in the garage to allow more 'stuff' to be carried. An offcut of the floor mat has been put on the wheel arch, but we might even get some boxes bolted in.

For those interested in the budget - the whole lot came in under £50 and has proved a real success, conversation is much improved. I've still got some of the foam which some was used on the battery box cover, the rest I might use under the bonnet. 90 V8 CSW - 1988
