Don't want to hijack this thread so if time permits, and assuming it doesn't get impounded for glowing in the dark, I'll start a thread about the import process later in the summer Thumbs Up

I know we all moan about fuel prices, but it always amazes me that all the effort that goes into oil extraction, processing delivery and sales that the price of a litre is less than a bottle of evian.

That's one way of looking at it.

Another would be to query the outrageous price of bottled water. WARNING.

Why would you pay for water, when you can get council spec out of the tap for free......

90 Dreamer yeah, it all comes out of a tap in a factory and then bottled, which comes from the same plant that the local council tap water is brewed from Whistle Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

What effect does it have on us?

Sadly its my livelihood.

The price of oil has been a major factor for my area of work , ....

''edited as it was a bit heavy for the site ! ''

The loss of revenue ripples down the whole supply train from us at the production side, the refinery side, the distribution and the sales. job losses all the way ...

I think its sad to see a ltr of water costing more than a ltr of fuel ...... Rolling Eyes

Sorry to hear it Wyvern.

What is/was it that you do in the production side and do you see a return to normality in the future regarding what you do?

So in a mild panic I filled up my Defender on the Friday evening before it all kicked off. Also filled a couple of gallon cans just to be sure.

That was what, 4+ weeks ago? I've still got well over 3/4 of a tank left!

I didn't the same, topped off the tank in the D4 on the way home from my last day in the office on 24 March & have probably done about 50-60 miles in it since!

I probably need some petrol for the car and diesel for the van, but somehow I can't bring myself to go to a garage.

Two Jerry cans of "heating fuel" (which IS what I bought it for originally) sitting on our boat are looking more appealing by the minute.
