Nothing for me.
Lettering was a classic Range Rover thing. Looks wrong on Defender bonnet. 1995 Defender 110 CSW 1971 SIIA Lightweight |

I’m in the ‘none’ camp, I reckon people can figure out what vehicle it is.

I went through the debate of adding LAND ROVER lettering to the bonnet; in the end i settled for the original smaller Defender sticker on the front slam panel and a black and silver oval badge on the grill.
At the time i was considering it i went around the Billing Show with a tape measure looking at every variation and colour. I was amazed at all the different spacing on bonnets. I did notice that DEFENDER looked wrong on none Puma bonnets - perhaps the profile of the bonnet curve is different. The DEFENDER letters looked too big on a none puma bonnet; so the adhesive backing foam pad didn't completely seal. Plus without any lettering its much easier to clean... one wipe! |

On a Puma bonnet, Defender. On a pre-Puma bonnet, Land Rover. Monsieur Le Grenadier

It changed for the MY13 vehicles.
The pre-Puma bonnet was never really designed for lettering and never fitted from the factory - the front edge is too narrow. One more vote for nothing.
I don't have to be told it's either a Defender or Land Rover. Even non owners know what it is. The names Land Rover and Defender have both been devalued by a company I don't want to be associated with. I'm a minimalist, there's no point in having bits of plastic on the bonnet that serve no purpose. ... Having said that, the Defender letters are still on my bonnet, it would be a waste of my time removing them. |
