Had a nightmare today with the lof Powermaster to the point where I gave up, which doesn’t happen often. Decided to cheer myself up by sorting out the dumb irons as I continue the lockdown chassis preservation project. The factory welding on this has been winding me up since I got the 90. I don’t understand how anyone can stand back after a weld like this and think to themselves “yep, happy with that”. So, angle grinder came out to cut the worst off, then the flap disc to tidy things up, then a few hours soaking any remaining rust with Jenolite, then paint. Happy again.

Also, despite being defeated by the master cylinder I did recondition the cover over the master cylinder and brake line bracket.

Cheers Simon. Had a nightmare with the LOF Powermaster, but think I’ll have another crack next weekend. Going to phone my mechanic tomorrow to see if he is working or not in case it all goes tits up!!

All these things are sent to try us, I’m not at all mechanical in anyway, if Roy5695 can’t help me then it’s my local Indie, it’s just not my forte but if you need a sewage diver then no problem hope it goes well next weekend. 2015 HT XS 90

I looked at it, and then added to it! Have been toying with the idea of taking the RAI off as I don’t like how it looks. Will remove this weekend and see just how bad the paint is underneath!

Productive weekend of body work. Removed the RAI and attempted the bodywork myself. Was quoted over £1k to get this done so definitely worth a punt and the result is surprisingly good. Ran out of paint to do the wing so that can wait until next weekend.
