The Land Rover we love to hate isn’t too bad

2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

I enjoyed that. Not sure what it proves, if anything or the exact science behind it, but I'll just assume it means the D5 is the best 4x4 out of them! James

I'm always sceptical about these tug of wars, its usually whichever vehicle is heaviest and has the best traction wins.

I can remember seeing a video where a td5 disco pulls a tractor unit and everyone is saying how amazing it was.

I particularly hate it when Land Rover do a train-towing stunt. The rolling resistance on a train is an order of magnitude lower, i.e. a 40 ton train is the same difficulty as towing a 4 ton trailer on road.
