Hi I had the exact same experience with mine just after I purchased it (new to me). Apparently this happens quite a lot with 2010 models, the dealer swapped the unit out (now three years ago) and no problems since. Thought I was going mad as it was random, some days it would some it would not 2010 XS USW 1957 Series One 88 diesel 1958 Series One 88 4x2 |

Must be a 2010 thing - happens now & again to my D4 but only when I unlock it & then turns itself off shortly after I have opened a door. Spooky!

Ghost in the machine. My missus had a Mini Cooper that did the same. They had to change the head unit. WARNING.

I have had three genuine Land Rover radios in the past seven years and they have all done the same. They could be switched off by the ignition system and physically switched off by the radio controls.
It got so bad a couple of years ago that the paperboy refused to deliver out papers, four times in one week the radio came on as he pushing the papers through the letter box. The next door neighbour used to hate going out at 5.00 am for work as the radio would suddenly start up. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

If they cannot get radios to work properly, what hope have we that the technology in the new Defender is likely to work/ be reliable.
Meanwhile perhaps send for Ghostbusters or an exorcist. |
