"A box on the A472 is near Swffryd in an area where a high number of lorries travel between Crumlin and Pontypool, while motorists coming from the M4 and Heads of the Valleys also use it.
Levels recorded were higher than anywhere else apart from Marylebone Road in London while the figure was also higher than for monitoring boxes in Port Talbot, Cardiff and Swansea. Saw these figures and was surprised that they weren`t a lot lower considering that road traffic has dropped an awful lot more than 50%.
Laughed when I saw a report last night that particulates were still high because of all the garden fires by people at home in lockdown - REALLY!!!!! Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly! |

It's crazy really, so many people can work from home these days, but still commute to and from work everyday up until recently, maybe this virus will see a shift in working culture in the future which is much needed imo. Certainly a way to reduce emissions dramatically.
I have been more productive and have had a better attitude to work recently doing it from home. |

I'm sure the sky has never looked bluer than it does these days. And the almost total absence of vapour trails is something else too.
Mind you, I'm wondering if the current lovely weather will end exactly to coincide with the end of the lockdown. |

I can work from home, and did as much as I could. My boss and immediate team mates are all in other cities anyway. But always felt I needed show my face in the office at least once or twice a week because other people either choose to go in, or don't have any option and like to moan about my lack of presence. There's always the fear I'll lose the privilege if I use it too much. That's between 40 and 80 unnecessary commuting miles a week I was doing.
I'm hopeful that problem will be eased as people have seen that many of us can be perfectly productive without having to attend some arbitrary desk every day. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Weird thing is when I checked the weather app today it said on that pollution was VH / Very High. (BBC Weather App).
That I can't understand as I would have thought it would have actually been low.. What does yours say if you use it? I agree that commuting isn't necessary, but that's not just car related either. (I feel this stems from the Londisian trendy culture.) I'm not sure I call work at home on the internet all day and various other stuff but that's just me. That being said, those that could do a job of sorts from home instead of an office an a different location it would work. Easily implemented by Insurance by making it SDP and Business and not commuting purposes. On the flip side, in a free country the govt won't want to be telling people how to live. The only reason for this lockdown is emergency reasons, they really didn't want to have to tell people what to do. If it wasn't for global travel, especially by air we wouldn't be in the position we are now at least as fast. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

No, it was both as it has both on it. The pollen has been up for quite a little bit of time.
The last day or two it has shown pollution go from high to VH, from medium before that. I would have expected it to have been low to be honest. Tomorrow it's showing medium until Sunday then High on Sunday. At least as a country we aren't destroying the Ozone layer unlike another country begining with C. 
UV has been at least medium / high today too, but it has been a nice day. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

Not sure what figures you were seeing but this is the Defra map for today:
