How to shine up bumper caps and mud guards?

My bumper end caps and mud guards are looking a little faded/tired. What's the best way of improving these short of replacing please?

Apparently, smothering them in peanut butter is the thing to do in detailing circles. I use Auto Glym bumper restorer gel stuff which works well intitially, but fades again quite quick.

I've seen people praising Buzzweld's Plastic-in-One product for rejuvenating plastic. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Morrison’s foam tyre cleaner does a decent job if applied a few times and buffed.
Very cheap too.

I use PTFE lubricant spray, cheap and holds a few months.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give them a go after I've painted my bumper.

Black shoe polish works pretty well too .... 👍🏻 Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Used for many years on end caps, flaps, wing mirrors and tyres. Spray and wipe.

+1 for that. Well, I used it on the plastic parts. Found a 20-year-old bottle the other day ("Protectant Semi-Matt").
Still had a price-tag of 11 Deutsche Mark

All of the above suggestions are temporary, after some sun and a few washes the plastics will be back to faded

furniture oil, tea oil or linseed oil.... all do a fine job...

2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Indus Silver

Just done my bumper ends, rear wheel cover, and will be doing door handles, lights and window rubbers/trims, I looked around and found this:

Just need to do some preparation; a good scrub with an all purpose cleaner (BiltHamber Surfex HD) followed by a good wipe with pure (98%+) 2-propanol (isopropyl alcohol) or panel cleaner.

I found it easy to apply, a little goes a really long way, gives a great finish, and is really hydrophobic with great water beading

re door handles you may want to check if treated surfaces get slippery. They do with armourall which is definitely not for handles or motorcycle seat - ask me how I know

Thanks for that, sounds promising. Could you use that on window seals etc too?

By window seals, I'll be using on the curved, black rubbery bit on the outside of the window, at the bottom edge. not well described, but the best I can do.

At this time, also trying on the clear plastic lenses of Brake, Fr-indictor and Sidelights. 4 stage process; clean(Surfex) polish (Farecla G10), de-grease (propanol) coat (CC-Pt Trim)

Results are great: micro scratches gone and restores clarity.
