I think here in Germany you could get away with that ... You need an MOT-engineer to approve it ... and the bumber carrying the winch will then be classified as a "mounting device" for a tool (i.e. winch) ... otherwise steel bumpers and bull-bars are no longer allowed over here .... Best Regards,

Just a thought. Owing to the way a Defender is built, if the metal bumper is removed would that not make it more fragile in a frontal collision? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

MY12 is there now, but no documents... Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain...

Yep, completely true, but the strange thing is that if you were to fit the bumper without a winch it would be illegal!! If it comes thrugh and it isn't what you want you are completely in your rights to turn it down...... then find a nearly new MY11 Glyn |
