I find it quite sickening actually. They try and pretend they are "supporting" people without acknowledging anyone and without making any contribution to the appalling situation... apart from "buy our expensive new car" Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Let’s not poke a stick at JLR in isolation, I have lost count of the emails I have received from MD’s of large companies telling me how worried I must be and it’s ok because either their shop or online shop are still open to spend my money with them - and they are continually assessing the situation.
Most of these MD’s I’ve never heard of and they don’t usually email me except when their organisation is on the ropes and this years bonus is not looking great. |

It appears lots of caravan and campervan owners are choosing to go to the coast or countryside to self-isolate. However, listening to both the Lake District, Scotland and Wales news it looks like they are to pass legislation in the next few days to force the closure of holiday caravan sites. So all these caravaners will have to return home. I think the biggest issue with the camping thing was articulated very effectively by some Scottish bloke (I think he was a Scottish MP but didn't watch long enough to find out who he was) on the news this morning, who made the extremely good point that the result of the mass exodus to holiday locations will inevitably overload completely the local facilities when all the incomers end up getting sick. Many of the areas are sufficiently remote not to have extensive health service facilities and will be hard pressed to cope with just the locals if and when the virus really hits. When the population has trebled or more because of the "covidiots" camping in the area, the local services will have not a hope in hell of coping.
It must be very galling too when the incomers then panic buy all the local supplies. I notice that nobody yet is panic-buying funeral plans and burial plots. |

Quite sobering statistics, Sulisuli

There appears to be many who do not believe there is a problem, Sulisuli.
What I don't get is that we seem to have bred a population who can't do nothing. If the shops are shut, these people have to go and do something else. Like climbing Snowdon? What's wrong with home? Is it that bad? Any excuse to stay in bed |
