I'm in a similar position - bad cold about 3 weeks ago after meeting up with some friends who had bad colds.
The test to see whether or not we have the anti-bodies is supposed to be very close. Priority will be health workers & carers, then gradually down through the rest of the population. |

Thanks folks. The NHS site thinks I might have it, but I'm still not sure as although I've had a slight cough for a few days, it's just one or two brief coughs every few hours.
Actually, my wife has just diagnosed that I have a severe case of Acute Hypochondria...! Joking apart, clearly better safe than sorry. |

Another message from Aussie.
Keep your distance if you can. If ya've gotta travel on public transport that can be a real issue I know, but if you're older like me, just practice "distancing" , keep to yourself & wifey for a while, just be happy together, & try to isolate yourself for a while,....that will be a BIG barrier for this insidious disease. STAY HOME,....be happy & Keep safe. Pickles. |

Hi Joe - for 3 days this week I had the bad aches & pains in joints like the start of a cold (or man-flu), along with a mild, phlegmy cough, temp up to 37.3. According to the guidelines, this didn't qualify as CV, but of course I thought maybe it was the start of it, and I took paracetamol anyway for the aches.
Then yesterday I woke & felt completely fine. So I can only assume that was just a mild cold, and because I didn't reach 37.8 or have a dry cough I carried on as usual. I doubt a mild C19 would be quite that mild, but I don't know? |

Well
Also Coronavirus is affecting the far end of the world. With more than 230 cases almost all the people that can are working from home in a sort of autoimpossed quarintine. (Italian and Spanish example has hit hard here). Already all the borders has been closed for foreigners, all the malls, schools and universities has been closed at least for 2 weeks and probably restaurants and other non essencial business will be closed soon (That will be a huge economic impact). In our case our daugther just arrive from Germany on Sunday, so she should be in Quarintine for 2 weeks but we also decide to isolate us to do not help to spread the virus. My mother and my mother in law has been isolated also in her homes without receiving visits (both are in the risky grpup over 70 with cardiac problems) So, working from home with my wife (good time to fix a lot of pending works in the house and the Defender) Cheers and take care (I dont like to hear tha someone of this group will be severely affected). A supermarket in Denmark got tired of people hoarding hand sanitizer, so came up with their own way of stopping it.

A mate in Norway pinged me this morning. They are in lock down from tonight, but the govt is paying 100% of payroll for 20 days and then 62% after that. Very civilised. It isn't clear how the magic £330bn referenced by the British govt. is going to get to where it is needed.

My son is the North Europe manager for Specsavers and is based in Norway, he managed to fly home earlier this week but of course, he cannot return because of the lockdown. Specsavers have told him they will continue to pay his full salary, of course, no one knows how long this situation will last or how long companies will be able to continue paying full salaries. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Norway has a very different economy to us - a much higher proportion of the working population are govt employees in one form or another and so making that sort of arrangement is much more straightforward. Darren

I just called my mother (82) in Suffolk to see if she and my father (85 and severely disabled) needed anything. She replied that she wished I was there because the new lawn they put down needed watering and the hose had a leak.
I thought about that and some of my panic subsided Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
