I'm no expert but I don't see a problem. I've been using ford Castrol magnatec A5 5W30 for a couple of years now I don't know why you'd need to use stop start stuff as long as it's the same weight it should be good

Castrol Edge will be fine. The 2.4 is not mega fussy about oil and Edge is good quality. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

It may be just a marketing ploy to introduce a stop start oil on the other hand the ASS oil may well have extra additives that allow it to stick to wearing surfaces when the engine stops, obviously this happens more frequently with ASS fitted. If the latter is the case then I can see no reason for you to change the oil, it may in fact be (slightly) beneficial to retain the ASS oil.
I'm sure in a few years time the marketing guys in the oil industry will have forgotten all about ASS and will be marketing some other useless feature. Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |

..im using MAGNATEC STOP-START 5-30W, and all is fine and nice so far (non DPF engine)..
