Sit rep - chuff juggling
Water. We had our en-suite re done a few weeks ago as the shower was leaking through the ceiling in the hall. It was fine for a while and then started coming through the ceiling again yesterday. The main bathroom is in the process of being redone and having a shower fitted. That leaked though the ceiling in the downstairs toilet and pantry / cupboard. I'm currently at home and I think by time Mrs H returns this afternoon the ceiling will be down in the hall, ceiling down in the downstairs toilet and the wall behind the new shower in the bathroom will also have a sizeable hole in. Sad

Cars: The cars are misbehaving too, the pick up is unwell, leaking oil and sounding rough. I suspect a new turbo needed. The P38 ABS and Traction lights keep coming on despite changing the offending wheel sensor, the SLK needs a new blower regulator and the 110 needs new steps as they have rusted again.... Sad

Happily we also have a pup coming in a couple of weeks to add to the general sense of chaos. Oh and I'm starting a new job next month after too long at PlayStation. Smile

In time the leaks will be fixed and ceilings made good, the cars will be fixed or sold depending on how annoyed I get, the pup will settle and the new job will be fine. It just feels like a lot of chuff to juggle, if one can indeed juggle chuff. Very Happy

Great post Huttopia - chuff juggling sounds like a good description! Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate, but hopefully it will all settle down again soon, as you say. Seems that these things always come along in great clumps rather than just being able to deal with one issue at a time!

Good to get it off your chest and well done for maintaining a sense of humour, which will always serve you well!

Out of interest, what did you do at Playstation?

Wishing you speedy chuff reduction! Thumbs Up 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

I was tempted to say "One life - Enjoy it" Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

I looked after the IT related projects across Europe. Some interesting, some ball breakingly tedious. As highly paid help the IR35 legislation has created an ‘opportunity’ to grow up a bit.

I’m going to sell coffee. Most people like it. You can’t turn it off and on again and hope for the best.

Sounds like the last two weeks I've had.

Started with splitting left side chest pains and 999 call (advised by doctor.)

Ambulance people wired me up but couldn't find anything. (Not surprised as I suspected it was just stress from having to live with divorcing wife for last two years).

My RR Classic refused to start. (Apparently it was the "stepper motor" - whatever that is).

Water came through ceiling in hall on the Friday night and I had to leave it pouring into buckets all week end.

Chest pains migrated to right arm and neck.

Monday, someone came and ripped up floorboards in two rooms, to find source of leak.

Plumber all day Tuesday who found a nail had been chafing a pipe for at least 15 years, in a place he couldn't reach!

The chap who sold me the Freelander two weeks ago, still cant find the V5C!

Chest pains got worse.

Thursday it was snowing and two snow-covered blokes came in the house and started removing furniture and belongings - all day long.

The now ex-wife left the house for good (after 22 years).

Friday alone in semi-bare house and wondering how to cook!

A few days later chest pains now easing, and replacement V5C on its way from DVLA.

Today, a trolley load of ready meals from supermarket.

Still wondering how to cook.......

Ooof, that sounds grim Slidey. One leak fixed here, the other being done on Friday, decorator coming next week.......one step at a time. I took the P38 to a body shop today to get a quote to tidy her up. Interested to see what comes back, a little place in Malvern that a friend recommended. Fingers crossed....

Thank you Clayton.

Fortunately, being sent away to a somewhat brutal boarding school at the age of 9 taught me how to survive.

As a mid-west American farmer once said: "Survival is a win!"

So, chest pains have eased and I'm getting good at ready meals.

But that damn V5C for the Freelander still hasn't arrived! Laughing

Chest pains, as i found out, can be caused by high stress and anxiety levels.

The body has great ways of telling you to slow down and chill out.

Glad you are feeling better as it sounds like your situation is improving Thumbs Up
