Hiya James !
( you could ask for a group discount was aimed at .....Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee lol ) and Mr Shroppy ............Keep yours eyes open then ... The product we are about to launch is "yet another bloody HD Diff Pan" .. except 8mm Domex Plate with M8 thread holes....for welding on to the axle casing after the standard pan has been cut off, and then a 5mm Plate ring with a Domex 5mm cover can be bolted into place. 5mm Domex 700MC is about the same as 15mm mild, so near bomb proof, and will come in at around £100 per end Prob 2 weeks from launch,, Nige |

Surely keeping the sides solid and not full of pretty holes would make it a lot stronger?

No the load is carried through the edges to stop the axle from bending lightening holes are regularly used to lighten parts in aerospace industry. It’s stopping torsional twist and bending in the axle beam as long as the holes don’t cut through the edges it’s all good

Arguably if Nige dimpled the holes then they could add some strength Ed

Regardless of the relative strength merits, is it not a giant mud trap? Darren

Hi All,
1st - this is made from Domex 700 MC Thats not your standard metasl - its approx 3 x structural strength of mild, so, 3mm Domex is same as 9mm plate ! but only 3mm lightness, essential for the racers. Also, this was designed using Solidworks CAD - and run through the stress analysis programme to see whats what, basically the holes make little difference due to design and metals used. The holes frankly are there to run Locker ait lines inside and or brake pipes, then give ability to blast all the crud out through the holes - and there are if you look at the pictures drain holes laser cut in the unit(s) to allow crud out Front and Rear axles set (ie Kit does front AND Rear) axles with all plates nuts bolts etc id £120 + VAT ish 120 sold so far, nobody has bent any, and some of the customers are known nut jobs !
