United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS DCPU Keswick Green
Quote of the day from the Telegraph this morning:

"Land Rover has announced pricing for its upcoming 2020 Defender 90, suggesting that this model’s drawn-out hype cycle might finally be drawing to a close." Laughing

I wanted the jump seat, even though £800 sounds a lot, but then you have to have the rear view camera which adds another £500. Sad

Talking of options ticked on previous vehicles which were never really used ~ Park heat, rain sensing wipers, auto dip headlights all spring to mind.

I was also wondering about the electronic diff, is it really worth it given how traction control will kick in anyway, albeit it a second or two later?

I'd like to see JLR demonstrate the benefit of it like they used to do traction control on the metal rollers.

disappointed at how much a winch costs - £3000 for a remote control electric winch and another £2570 for the mounting kit is a bit steep.

Don't forget the mounting kit has some substantial engineering effort and a patent behind it ~ I'm guessing those costs are only spread across a relatively small percentage of total vehicle sales.

A slight aside, but if anyone at JLR who proofed the photo had ever done any winch training they would have spotted the issue in that photo...

Jumpi seat and rear view - I thought the whole idea of the smart review mirror/cam was so you could see through the head of whoever is sat on the jump seat.... instead of asking that person to duck down when you want to see out if the back.

E-Diff - I had it on my RRS SDv6 HSE Dynamic which was also running road tyres all the time - low box and e-diff was a very effective mode in mud and on snow on 22” wheels (yes I know totally unsuitable size for Offroad but it worked well) and I went some pretty slippery places without a problem . You. Cannot control it, it self engages and comes in in 3 stages and goes off automatically - TC is on or off. On a streamIng wet motorway I was surprised how often the e-diff would engage too Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

PHEV announcement is in most of the press too, no prices or specs but bound to the same as the Discovery due out in the summer.
90 PHEV with 400hp and 30miles ‘free’ will be a great spec for the commute🙄 2015 90 XS SW Bowler

I bet it doesn’t get the P400e set up but the Evoque and Discovery Sport PHEV set up with a 1.5ltr 3 cylinder turbo like I have in my Countryman PHEV........... which is fine in the Countryman, Evoque or Discovery Sport but a big, already heavy and bluff 4x4 might struggle with1.5ltrs Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Ok I think I’ve got mine sorted, after playing around with the configurator since yesterday.

90 D200 S
Tasman Blue
White steels
Privacy glass
White interior cross member
Air suspension
Classic mud flaps

I’ve decided against the white roof, it bugs me paying £800 to have the car painted then pay another £800 to paint a tiny part of the car. So far it’s coming in at just over £47k, relatively cheap compared to some specs. Laughing

@Tim in Scotland

The 3cyl hybrid will be a transverse installation for Evoque etc, so wouldn't easily fit in the Def. The Defender will get the RRS/Disco set up, but I guess a lower power 4cyl might be a good idea. 2015 90 XS SW Bowler

Go for a white body and you get the £800 white roof for free

I’ve had a few white Land Rovers based on that theory including my current one.

I’ve cancelled, myself and dealer can’t agree on my Velars value so it will stay the last year of its contract. Thankfully it’s on PCP as at the moment it’s valued less than its GMFV, so come the end of its contract LR finance is going to get a shock Laughing

oh dear make sure dealer speaks to LR to see what they can do. I had similar on one of SWMBO's D4s we wanted to swap early but trade offered was abysmal told them ill leave it and will be throwing back the keys at end of term and it will be Land rover finances problem. 2 weeks later got a call with a LR/Dealer loyalty contribution of a further £4k to swap it immediately Laughing 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

Laughing

I’m going in tomorrow to collect my deposit. I got an email at Christmas saying as my car was 2 year old I was to come in and they’d do a good deal on trade in. Well I’d hate to see their bad deal Laughing

I think JLR have caught quite a cold on this issue in the last quarter, I recall reading somewhere they had to write down $36 million in the US market against GMFV vehicles.
