When I replaced the rear door on my old 90, I sourced a good second hand Puma one. I had to hunt around a bit to collect all of the various parts but I was really pleased with the result:

Paddocks for a new pattern Puma type rear door, £220ish plus vat from memory; Although they are pattern they must be coming out of the same place as the genuine doors as they are a really complicated one piece pressing which would be hard to replicate. I fitted one to my Puma to replace the buckled original and it is indistinguishable from the old one.
Order a Britpart glass seal at same time and genuine grab handle (were about £6) SP4x4 for Puma glass Pre Puma door lock fits fine, and look out for a second hand door card on eBay. |

I currently have an SP rear door on my car. Galvanised frame/aluminium skin. This was bought painted, sat in a dry garage for a couple of years, and then fitted. After about 4 months on the vehicle (roughly - you could gauge the timescales from my rebuild thread) there was quite a rusty tinge to the inside of the door handle recess. Rust - even surface rust - where there was supposed to be galved zinc.
Really quite disappointing, but there would be a few years of life in it I suppose. Way past any guarantee period, though I did ask, based upon how short a time it had been actually on the car. However I've bought ( but not yet painted or fitted) a replacement from 'hairymonsterman' on ebay. Not really so much because of the SP door quality issues, but because in the meantime I've got a nakatanenga spare wheel carrier which really needs the internal bracing for a Puma wheel carrier rather than the Tdi one. Having had a good look at it, I'm quite happy with the quality of this 2nd door. When the weather gets a bit better I'll get it painted and fitted. So, if I was buying again, I'd think twice (personally) about SP, but be quite open to the ebay one. The guy is based in Northern Ireland, but the door got to Nth Scotland in decent nick. Mine is from Robert (Hairymonsterman) in Norn Iron.
It's superb, galv frame, one piece zintec skin and stronger than anything made by other suppliers. I'd absolutely recommend. Mo The Land Rover 90 - Many are called, few are chosen. 50 Shades of Pennine Grey |

I've noticec that Hairymonsterman also supplies rear doors with a solid panel instead of a window aperture. If I was ever to convert my DC to a USW I would fit one of these.

I got mine from Hairymonsterman a month or so ago. It should be back from the painters any time now.
Quality looks good so will see what its like when I fit it. |
