Stuck in 3rd gear, now in neutral can’t select any gears..

Hi,

I have a 2010 2.4 110.
A few days ago I started the Defender, and thought I was in neutral, but as I let my foot off the clutch it lurched forward, I put it in low range and drove around the garden, but couldn’t get it out of gear.
I saw another post about this issue, and followed the advice by ashtrans to remove the detent plug and move the selector rail to get it into neutral. This worked, however now I can’t go into any gear, it is stuck in neutral.

When I moved the selector rail, could I have moved it too far?
Has anyone else had these issues?
Anyone got a solution, before i start removing the gearbox?

Clutch spring let go and stuck against flywheel ?

Ooh, hadn’t even thought of that 😲
I had a new updated heavy duty clutch fitted in October 2018, so would hope it’s not that, but another one to put on the list to rule out.

If it was the clutch you would still be able to select gears with the engine stopped.

Thanks black wolf, will cross that off then.

I think I will dismantle gearstick assembly again and try and move the selector rail forward and backwards and see if it makes any difference.

Hopefully you'll sort it, but if you have probs I've a good 50k box sat in the barn that I bought and didn't need......
