Heritage style grill badge fitting
I’m going to give my Defender a facelift and have decided on a heritage style grill.
I’ve purchased a copy from eBay and will be taking it to be painted tomorrow. When it returns I’ll be fitting and old style badge.
There are holes for riveting but I’m worried about riveting onto plastic. Has anyone fitted a badge to one of these?

I was going to, and thought the same. I think 3M number plate tape might be a good bet. I think the factory badges might be riveted, but who knows if the copy grills are as strong... 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2

I imagine that some repair washers the other side of the plastic will be enough to spread the load.

When I fitted an alloy badge to my mesh grill, I made up a little plate to clamp it in position:

I covered the backs of each with foam to protect the grill coating:

Pete I did precisely the same thing , putting the badge on the heritage grill . I riveted it but placed good sized washers behind . https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/

Thanks for the help guys, it’s currently at the painters but when I get it back I’ll take a proper look. Washers seem like a good idea but might just use number plate tape, that’s what is holding the rear badge on.

My only concern with numberplate tape is that the surface area that it'd be sticking to on a grill isn't great. It would, at least, be very easy for somebody to prise off but might just fall off. Darren

Definitely rivet it , just use small soft rivets with a washer each side .
Some light fingered individual will walk off with it otherwise , they’re not cheap . At least mine wasn’t ! https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/
