There is no need to run a separate battery just to run a few led fixtures.
If you aren't much of a wiring man and you have no use for masses of extra gadgets then just replace the battery and don't cause yourself a hassle. I'd only suggest to quickly check your earths before you assume the battery is totally toast. See if it makes any difference to starting if you use a jump lead between battery earth and your chassis. If that makes no difference try using the jump lead between your engine block (maybe the crane lifting tag on the top of the engine to chassis) |

Thanks, I have no need apart from what I have said above so will test the battery tomorrow and if it is on teh way out just get a new one.
