I'm surprised there was more. What took you there? Have to admit I had to Google where it was. Was it safe? James

I've struggled to spot Land Rovers in Africa outside of safari areas. The Ghanaian police fleet used to be Defenders but they're probably all gone now. Only saw 2 in Rwanda in 2 months. Morocco there's quite a few. Nice photos LR Workshop

Hi JOW240725. I visited Burkina Faso to see some mineral & mining concessions. One hears about problems there, but everything was great in all of the places that I visited. The folks were pleasant as well.
As a general point, numbers of land Rovers in Africa have gone down significantly. In the past it was true that there was always someone around if required who could help fix a problem or source a part from a wreck close by. Recently though the L/R population has fallen so things are not that straight forward any more. |

There is, or at least was, a yard of the Ghana police 110s parked up in East Legon, maybe 30 or 40 of them but that was a couple of years ago, they were A/C equipped 300Tdis from memory. Ironically most of the old series Landys you see in Ghana are breakdown trucks with homebrew versions of Harvey Frost cranes nailed on the back. As Whitcliffian says, the numbers you see on the roads, not just in Ghana but across Africa seem to be declining. It's an area that LR could have done so well in but Toyota have just excelled. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop 1989 300Tdi 90 Soft top 1992 200Tdi 90 Truck cab with Land Cruiser axles |
