Disco 1 rims on a Defender
So.....am having a set of the above reconfigured with the centres reversed and offset -30mm. These will replace a set of 8 x 16 -25mm. steelies. I am in a quandary as to what colour to spray them. Traditionally have always had black rims but that doesn't seem to work on the Disco rims. Anyone have pics. of alternative colours? Thinking a dark silver or even a mid-gray. This is my Deefer. Thanks in anticipation.

If it were me, I'd go for white. In fact, I did many years ago when I owned a white 110:

I had a set of reversed disco steelies once on a 90. They were a bit too offset, first puddle would plaster the side of the 90 (espially with 35" simex's!)

Seem to recall years ago that they were not rated for the laden weight of a 110, ok for a 90, but the 110 was too much.

Hopefully I am wrong, but worth checking. 80" 1948

I think you're getting mixed up with Discovery alloy wheels (specifically Freestyle/Tornado), which are only
rated to about 780kgs, from memory. The Discovery steel wheels are much stronger at 1340kgs, which makes them higher that regular steel wheels but not as high as Wolf wheels. Darren

Agree. The Disco steel centres are quite heavy. Heavier than the 8 x 16s I replaced. Nothing suggests poor workmanship like wrinkles in the duct tape.

My bad, just remembered something about Disco wheels not being suitable for the 110. Not trying to worry anyone, better safe than sorry.
Now better check the alloys on my 130! 80" 1948

Unfortunately, your alloys are the Disco 1 Tornado that I mentioned above. Darren
