Just a heads up. There are some Caravan warranties that will become invalid if not serviced by a VAT registered service agent. Daft, I know but it is a fact. So do check their VAT status. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I thought that it was illegal now to put restrictions on who can service any item to ensure warranties are still valid, vehicles can be service as long as the service is carried out in accordance with manufactures recommendations. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

I have not heard about the illegality of this in relation to warranty, however, especially with Caravan insurance this still applies at least with my insurance policy. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I used to be with the Caravan Club but switched to the NFU when the cost of the Caravan club Insurance started to get ridiculous neither had/have restrictions on servicing unless the C. C. have changed. Don't make old people mad.

I have heard the same on vehicle warranties. Someone I know bought a nearly new Vauxhall and the local garage who serviced their previous car were unable to carry on doing the servicing because of the 'VAT Registered' stipulation.
Whether this is something that could be challenged in court, who knows? Unless you have a friendly Lawyer who works cheaply or have pots of money, I'm not sure how this would ever get challenged? |

ARC99 do you have a link that stipulates that asking for Vat service agents is now illegal as it does annoy me that I have to use one. These are two copied texts, one from insurance the other from Caravan warranty
