No I haven't. I might blank it to see if I feel any difference. No engine cover so I wont go for the full kit. 2003 Defender 110 TD5 SW

To be honest I am glad I have re-instated it following some reading around the subject and the impact on the engine as well as potential insurance problems if not notified it is missing and the implications of more stringent MOT checks on our old polluters
in the future especially with the growing climate change agenda.

Sailed through MoT after the new rear crossmember was fitted and the track rod ends, front pads were a bit of a fight as some of the pistons on the callipers refused to retract. Bought a pair of Bearmach callipers to fit for now, I’ll refurb the originals with stainless pistons and new seals and keep them on the shelf. Radius arm bushes replaced too. Finally got around to fitting the 2” lifted front springs and shocks, I was well prepared with all new hardware so it was a three hour job outside my house using the angle grinder to dismantle... Standard rear springs still fitted but I’m happy with the overall height now, it’s a lot more even and I want to keep the resr end as compliant as possible.

Cheers guys! Trying to get it almost perfect under the skin but the 'patina' will remain on the outside. There's going to be some frame repairs to the doors in the future I'm hoping to retain the original skins intact.... 2003 Defender 110 TD5 SW

Rooting around underneath yesterday to try and diagnose why no diff lock light, too much slop in the linkage. Engages ok manually from underneath and I get a light! Now to source spares.

One more job done! Old door was proper knackered, various bodge repairs over the years. New one fits well, managed it all in about 3 hours including putting new glass in with the original seal. Well happy with the rattle can paint job. Just a few bits to finish it off, the rivnuts for the grab handle, a plate for the Mantec and refit trim. Non genuine glass so I painted the third brake light surround in, currently waiting for araldite to set on the brake light mounting posts. Might work, worth a try! Had to lay in a couple of cables for the brake light too. Heated rear window now works!!
