I am going to put a rear camera in eventually as it's easier to install and more reliable than sensors (they don't pick up narrow obstacles such as bollards sometimes!) and a picture is much better than a couple of bleeps, good for hitching up also. You can put one on the front as well of course, many good reasonably priced bits of kit available

There is always Trailair if you are feeling flush......
http://www.landrovertrailair.co.uk/buy-trailair-by-land-rover/ Gives you a hitch level camera and tyre temp/pressure monitor for your LR and your trailer/caravan etc.. I keep flicking back and forward re this solution vs a cheaper camera only solution. What I would really like is a nice touch screen , a nice dash mod to mount it and the ability to pipe any number of different stuff into it , but I fear it doesn't exist 2011 Defender XS 110 Station Wagon - Rejected 2008 Discovery 3 XS Auto (Gone) 1997 Discovery ES Auto 300TDI (Traded in on a flat bed) |

I installed a camera on to the rear working lamp:
Click image to enlarge Easy with parking. It was a relative cheap camera, and I agree with fut1a, you usually get what you pay for: it was a cheap camera. Therefore, soon I will upgrade to better camera cos this one is not working anymore now after one year. There are several threads on sensors and reversing cameras on here already Steve.

I must be doing something wrong then because when I looked I got 238 threads. What do I need to do just to get the several? 59 reg 90 XS Station Wagon 2010 Honda Fireblade |

This is my biggest concern, there is obviously a big blind spot behind, just reversing out of the garage is worry enough with my own kids, and neighbours kids who scoot up and down the path. I have to back onto the path to close my garage doors and you can't see them coming with high hedges. It will also make hitching and reversing into tight spots in supermarkets easier |

When you type in what you're searching for make sure you click the "Search for all terms" button to get closer results. By doing that, then if you're searching for reversing camera then the search facility will only bring back a result if the topic contains both words. If you leave "Search for any terms or use query as entered" selected then it will return all topics that contain just the word reversing, and all that just contain the word camera - hence a couple hundred results. Of course it does - you want a head unit with the screen that comes out (touch of course) a good one comes with inputs (two possibly more) - Job done. Mike |

Yeh mse,
Thought about that route but kept coming up with fixed screens that wouldn't fit in the single height stereo slot , and were limited to 1 or 2 inputs , closest to what I want so far though.
