What speed you doing on the motorway? A trip of about 40 miles towing a trailler one way weighing about 1.5 ton, followed by a run to my girlfriends house on A roads and motorway of about 27 mile, followed by 85 miles of mostly motorway to Liverpool and the rest of the tank around the Isle of Man last week returned over 32 mpg in my 90.
It's never dropped below 30 mpg whatever driving I do, (except maybe the above trailler towing). Around the island and back to my girlfriends house gave just over 31 mpg. Not necessarily there are several tuning firms some of which are forum sponsors, I would speak to them all in fairness. Personally I use B.A.S and wouldn't go anywhere else, some friends (fekete for one) use Gary at Alive and get what they want, depends where you live and who you know. I would say you shouldn't lose any mpg as long as you don't suddenly start booting it everywhere due to the tune. Main thing is try a reputable firm and get a test drive first. Hmmmm....... Good in theory, unfortunately the extra ooomph from the tune somehow makes your right foot heavier for some unfathomable reason I use Alive for my tune but would recommend that you get a personal remap from a reputable company like Alive or BAS (both Alive and BAS are site sponsors and give forum discounts and are very well respected) as they will tailor the remap to your personal needs and don't just supply a generic map like some of the cheaper suppliers of tunes do, after all why scrimp and try to save a few pounds on a tune when it could potentially wreck your engine if it isn't done correctly by an established company who invest thousands of hours/pounds in development to supply specialised landrover tunes, company's like Alive and BAS! I'd struggle to match those figures to be fair but my landy only has 10k miles on the clock so maybe its not run in yet.On the motorway I travel at 70/75mph.On the couple of occasions Ive towed a car trailer Ive got about 23mpg. 2009 SVX 90 Station Wagon |
