United Kingdom 2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Aintree Green
[For Sale] 56plate TD5 90 CSW Tonga green
Late 2006 TD5 90 CSW, 6 seater for sale on behalf of my elderly parents.

Late TD5 so benefits from "Puma" front doors as standard along with rear door, late 15P engine, reflashable ECU, plastic inner wings with soundproofing etc. Factory County spec - Factory seat bulkhead removal bar, carpets, electric windows, central locking but no ABS or Aircon to go wrong. Tonga green paintwork - the classic colour for 90 CSW. Boost alloys with good General grabber TRs, all new approx 3 years ago.

Has been owned by my parents for the last 4-5 years and used purely as a road car, and always has been by prior owners - never been offload, It has avoided any chequerplate anywhere, no rock sliders, roof aerials or winch bumpers. My father fitted a genuine Land Rover Puma snorkel to it just for looks but other than that it is standard. (photo above is prior to snorkel fitment) approx 130k miles (from memory as parents are away) Never been tuned or fiddled with so no warped exhaust manifold.

I had the 90 in my workshop for a month last year while my parents were on holiday and did load of jobs to it to maintain its reliability as I didn't want it letting them down. I ended up getting bit carried away and spending over £2.5k on parts and galvanising and that was with free labour. Off the top of my head I did the following:

- New rear crossmember fitted properly - not with extensions, just the rear crossmember removed and a new one fitted as per original with genuine upper closing plates fitted and all welds replicated as factory (Local Land Rover specialist didn't believe me that had been changed) I am a coded welder and it didn't need doing however I did it while I had the chance on my lift so I wouldn't have to do it in five years time. Chassis was then painted and extensively waxoyled. There is no other welding or patching to chassis and it is not packed with mud through the rear wiring loom holes like most are!

- New take out Puma Mondus heated county front seats, with FCX heated seat wiring loom and genuine switches. Genuine leather 36 spline XS steering wheel (hens teeth)
- Roof and sides removed, all new genuine cappings purchased and galvanised prior to fitting. All new body and roof seals, vent seals, windscreen rubber, rear door seals / retainer, rear window sliders.
- HD solid steering track rod / drag link and track rod ends
- New clutch kit and master cylinder fitted.
- New Lucas TRW brake servo, and master cylinder. New brake shuttle block.
- New brake callipers throughout, fitted with stainless steel pistons. New discs, new disc shields, galvanised prior to fitting. New Kunifer lines throughout with stainless steel braided hoses.
- Fuel tank dropped and genuine Land Rover fuel pump fitted (£240!), Fuel tank guard galvanised.
- New G.O.R.E products fuel filter head (£120 but work of art), Galvanised mudshield.
- TD5 injectors removed and new genuine seals fitted / rocker cover seal, new OEM injector loom fitted
- new MAF November
- New centre and rear silencer
- New window blocks
- Polybushed throughout, new Delphi Aframe joint, new antiroll bar joints
- Swivels rebuilt with new bearings / seals etc and preload correctly set.
- Diff flanges and seals replaced
- one piece rear half shafts fitted to reduced backlash
- New OEM springs, galvanised spring seats and turrets, Gas dampers.
- Stainless Nakatenga door bolt kit, new rear door hinges
- X eng door strikers
- New galvanised front bumper
- Puma ignition barrel and matched door locks so new type key.

There will be more but that's off the top of my head! Photo shows cappings being fitted and resprayed

Bad points are passenger door has a scrape along it about 2' above bottom from a rock protruding from verge, and side step has rubber covering torn off from same rock. I touched the door up and its not too bad but it is visible, No other body damage or filler! Other than that is does have wear and tear from 13 years of use however I personally think it is pretty respectable and considerably better than most other TD5 90CSWs that have been for sale recently.

It is located in South West, Price £12,000

The defender is my parents, I am visiting them next Thursday and will take lots of photos of it for anyone interested and confirm exact mileage and all the work done (I’d forgotten I put a new radiator in it, diff flanges and one piece half shafts and some other bits and pieces)

it is located at South west Cornwall, but I do have to drive to the midlands in two weeks time and could potentially drive the td5 up if anyone was interested.

The Defender is still for sale -

There is about an inch of paperwork and receipts with defender - lots of work done to it that I’d forgotten - new LUK dual mass flywheel and LUK clutch last year, X eng door strikers, TRW servo and TRW master cylinder, regularly serviced by local independant. Rear tip up seats were retrimmed in leather. It also has a genuine Land Rover “black pack” Santorini black grill and headlamp surrounds which were £150 from main dealer last year.

The bad point is there is very slight surface rust to the passenger bulkhead top corner, This has come through in the last year - nothing major, it has not rusted through and has been touched up but I want to be totally honest with potential buyers.
