We spent our festive period camped out in the South of Cornwall nr Godrevy and had our festive dinner looking over the Crowns at Botaliack. The weather was dry but the winds were strong at the end of the day... but my partner was able to take some awesome photos as usual of the stormy seas at Perranporth ... and we stuffed ourselves with massive xmas eve fish and chips from the Dolphin cafe in the carpark
Mind you ... I have no idea how Santa got in thought the exhaust on the air heater !! (edit - just been told he came soon the snorkel - so no worries ! ) Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 Last edited by wyvern on 29th Dec 2019 1:03pm. Cheers Simon - and to you and yours !
One little adventure - while out with the 4x4 response team helping with the Falmouth annual choir event on xmas eve, we were both using our dual band radios to communicate with the team leader during the day, when we were stood next to the 110 - the doors all locked themselves with the keys inside !!! So a quick panic call to Green Flag who were able to get us back in and get the keys in a short time. Moral of the story - dont use a hand held radio next to a 110 with out the keys in your hand ! Nope, sorry that's it for now, a mate is sorting the side hinged tailgate and then ready for the bodyshop on the 2nd to spray the tub inside, remove and repaint the windscreen frame and brackets after fixing a couple of small rust spots and polish the sides and bonnet. Planning to mount the spare on the bulkhead which I've decided not to delete. Then, we can start to put it back together hopefully A slow burner, I know, but very pleased with progress and also thrilled to find no horrors Rob 1993 200tdi 90 hard-top 1998 300tdi 90 soft-top 2016 2.2 XS 90 hard-top (sold) |

Went for a little drive on a lane near me. Part of the Wayfarer’s Way in Hants/Berks/Wilts(?).
It also looks like I need a new rear licence plate light. Thinking of getting the LED one from MudStuff. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Last edited by Mini Landie on 29th Dec 2019 6:36pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Decided to relocate my fog light switch, add a spare and fit a digital volt meter today. After much thought and a big drill decided on this

Late start to work this morning as having got into the defender the key wouldn’t turn in the ignition to release the steering lock, I had turned the steering hard one one side so the drivers side wheel was almost touching the wall to prevent “rollback” as we were away for 48hrs.
No amount of wiggling of the key or “encouraging” of the steering wheel side to side would release it, concerned I would break something as my temper was fraying, a quick telephone call and the solution was found.....bottle jack under the front to jack the two front wheels off the floor and whilst in the air a little wiggle of the steering and hey presto key turned and steering lock undone.....Simples when you know how. The quick call was to the service director at my main dealers Roger Young hadn’t planned to be calling them quite so early in 2020 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

It was frustrating but these things happen, I’m sure it won’t be the only frustration with the defender in 2020. 2015 HT XS 90
