heating upgrade for free
It suddenly occurred to me today, that the small plastic heater deflector in the footwells ( someone has made a swivelling one), actually restricts the output of the fan, as the air hits it, then is forced 90 degrees. Sooooooooooo, I just took them off. My goodness what a difference, the hot air can actually be felt blowing on the lower legs. result! Wink 'Volvo XC 70, taking the rough with the smooth’

right!

if you have an opportunity, you should try it with the lower dash removed altogether!

went for a drive today, only about 10 miles, and it has turned a tad milder, but I had to turn the fan down, and open the window, a bit too warm. Rolling Eyes 'Volvo XC 70, taking the rough with the smooth’

I took mine off and swapped them over to other side (upside down). Now that actually clear the side windows (ish).

WOW ANDYT, that's a tip I've never heard before! Bow down

Also, open your bonnet and reach under the heater air intake and remove the rubber bung altogether and tip a boiling kettle of water in the wing top grill to wash it out, that way water can't sit in there when it's blocked with mulch and it can reduce steaming up, as damp air will not be sucked in from the heater.

in the past, I had the transfer box/gearbox tunnel removed whilst investigating a noise - you'll be surprised by the heat that comes into the cab !
