This sort of case just reinforces my utter refusal to buy ANY secondhand Defender parts from FleaBay.
I'm sick to death of listening to LR owners telling me how 'cheap' they managed to get various parts from numerous handling stolen goods internet sites such as FleaBay, Gumtree etc & then as to the same time moaning about lack of Police action etc etc. I'm thinking of starting a campaign...'if it seems cheap it's probably nicked'... Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains |

Unfortunately some people want and need replacement doors, tailgate, and adding a Puma bonnet brings an old Defender bang up to date,
The difference for some..... £250 for a bonnet or £25,000 for a Tdci Defenedr ? It wast that many years ago I was walking around billing with a mate and half his body panels were laid bare on the grass for sale ! DEFENDER XS CSW 08 TONGA GREEN |

An even worse crime has been committed on this very forum:
It's a RAILWAY Station, not a 'Train' Station! Off to get me coat.... |

In British English, up until a couple of years ago, it would always have been 'Railway Station'.
However, in recent years,' Train Station' has entered popular usage. Whether this is borrowed from American English, I am not able to say. However, both are correct. Though if 'Train Station' is an Americanism then all I can say is Simon & Garfunkel (Americans) mention "railway station" in their song "Homeward Bound". I'm sittin' in the railway station Got a ticket for my destination I also will get my coat For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 Last edited by gilarion on 13th Dec 2019 4:57pm. Well said, Mr Joe, I could not agree more.
In the USA it would traditionally have been railroad station or sometimes depot, not train station. "Train station" appeared when illiterate people started to be employed as journalists! |

Well he was sat in Widnes station when he came up with the lyrics, so perhaps he thought it best to use Queen's English |

To be correct and proper in English usage then Railway or Train station is only a generic term
It would be proper to call the station by its name such as Manchester Victoria station, Edinburgh Waverley station, Cardiff Central station etc. Still getting my coat For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Not sure you haven't shot yourself in the foot, with both barrels with making the 1st statement, and then signing off with: "me coat" |

In which case, you may be too young to remember The Fast Show.
Which was nice. |

Only wish I was too young...
Just wondering how you can embrace one example of venacular speech whilst condemning another? Intentional or unintentional irony? |

Good to know. Can you tell me why the US Postal Service delivers Mail but Royal Mail delivers Post? Oh and to bring the thread slightly nearer the original topic, some scrotes nicked my trailer last night. . WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. Last edited by Zed on 16th Dec 2019 6:39am. That's really bad news, and shocking to hear that they don't mind making what was presumably quite a lot of noise to get to the trailer.
