Used to live in the village - amazingly helpful parts people who were genuinely interested in being helpful. JB

Shame they dont understand the sale of goods act !
Seems if you purchase a genuine accessory from them and it is faulty , you have to buy another then wait for them to put in a claim from lr before they refund you, very poor service, would never deal with again |

Bought my 2007 90 from these guys and after only 2300 miles it had to go back for:
ABS problems Front Hub problems, Engine went bang Water leaks Rubbish waxoil job due to this rubbish aftercare i asked for the rtn of the 90 and wanted a new truck as i had agreed by land rover uk to be told that if this is what i had agreed then go somewhere else as they did not want to know Last edited by Defender-Stu on 3rd Sep 2012 9:26pm. This is standard practice for all parts suppliers as rightly, the manufacturer makes the decision on the warranty not the dealer. If warranty was denied then the dealer would be out of pocket and any good business is in business to stay in business and not be a charity ! |

It might be standard practice but it's totally illegal which is why I won in the small claims court |

Indeed, your contract is with the retailer not the manufacturer, so it falls on them to claim their money back in due course. They could potentially be told to swivel by the manufacturer, but that's the risk of selling things.
It's amazing how many retailers either don't know that or (more likely) try and fob you off to contact the manufacturer. |

I bought my Defender 90 300tdi CSW from them (stolen back in July) about 8, or so, years ago.
I seem to remember picking up a few minor faults after owning it for a couple of weeks, but these were all promptly remedied without fuss or delay. I would have bought my replacement Defender from them, without hesitation, but they just didn't have what I was looking for at the time. Steve Cleave, in sales, is as good as gold, and operates on a BS free basis. The service department acted as very helpful 'independent third parties' by verifying faults that I had found with my replacement 110, and liaised directly with the dealership that I had purchased it from. The parts department is always friendly & knowledgeable. All in all, IMHO, a dealership to trust. '57 Defender 110 XS Station Wagon 2.4tdci |

72k service + MOT carried out the week before last.
Wipers packed up, without warning + mid-wipe, three days before I was due to visit them. They ensured that all of the the failed items were replaced under the last few days of my 1years extended warranty and/or the MOT failure warranty - The lower rear shock bushes had also worn. I paid for some additional wiper parts (which had not yet failed), on their recommendation, so that all components were fresh. Good service + advice, as ever, and I am confident that they know their way around Defenders, as there are always plenty about. As a bonus, and as previously posted, they were also the cheapest of the three main dealers that provided quotes. '57 Defender 110 XS Station Wagon 2.4tdci |

total cowboys, tried to rip me off but I had the HD dash cam footage of them supposedly 'working' on the disco. Quite funny when their BS is contradicted in full colour hd film.
Would never use again, clueless incompetent and liars. Pom |
