Is the rope on the front bumper a stylistic addition or does it serve a purpose?

Thanks for the positive comments everyone. The rope is aesthetic, but can be taken off to tow if required.

I've had the dashboard re-trimmed this week. Love the way it turned out. Next job is to fit a Mud UK Tdi centre console and fit a double din android player.

Looks great that and a credit to you, I like the Rope on the front bumper, the re trim looks great and the dash is very well done, like the original switch for the lights, Convoy lights still operate i guess ??

Thumbs Up

Is that a 992 sticker on the dash, DEFENDER XS CSW 08 TONGA GREEN

Thanks Chalky! Yes, the convoy lights still work. I plan on repositioning the switch once I put a new console in.

It's a 991 sticker, got it with my Porsche Club GB membership.

PCGB, I’ve not re subscribed after the recent controversy with all this SOR stuff at some of the specialist dealers, I take it the 911’s in London, got a 997 Myself in GT Silver. C4S.

The old convoy lights, followed a few of them, chinstrapped, trying to work out if it’s a small light close up or a Big light further away that looks small, Then all of a sudden brake lights come on followed by headlights ! Followed by a Censored !

Sticker looks well in the Defender screen tho 👍 DEFENDER XS CSW 08 TONGA GREEN

Yes the 911's in London, its a 991.2 C2 in Agate Grey. I went to a few PCGB meet ups/drives initially after I got the car but haven't been to one recently. The 997 is a great car specially in GT Silver. I think the Defender and a 911 make a great pair. I've seen that pairing on a few London driveways.

I haven't really played around with the convoy lights, but its a cool feature to have and shows my cars military roots.

Here's a couple of prints I had done for my study.

Great city Dhaka

Hehe Dhaka is pretty manic! I feel pretty lucky to be able to spend time between London and Dhaka.

^^ Agree. Also better than Chittagong. Or the flight with Biman from one to the other. Been there, done that. Thumbs Up
Eric

Haven't been to Chittagong in years but plan to take my Defender there at soon. Flying on Biman is always an interesting experience, but they have modernised their fleet in recent years and the service has improved as well.

Do let me know if you're ever back in Bangladesh.

The prints look fantastic, any chance you could PM me the details as I wouldn’t mind looking into those, I’ve had the 997.1 for 7 years and had got rid of my 90 by the time that came on the scene,

I work in London and there does seem to be some synergy between the two seen fairly recently with Rick Stein having trundled all over in his beloved Defender he’s now on the roads with his 911 cabrio.

There was a nice 993 in Chelsea always parked on the side of the road towards the harbour end and bumped into him last year at Porsche on the prom in Llandudno,

Re the convoy lights, don’t forget to keep the diff pan painted white, stencilling is optional ? DEFENDER XS CSW 08 TONGA GREEN

Quick update
My Keswick Defender has a new friend, another recently rebuilt 90 in Keswick Green but this one has a heritage grill and white steel wheels which I think look great!

I had some major issues with my car, the timing belt tore resulting in a couple of bent valves and pushrods. Glad to have the car back now following a swift repair.

My friend who rebuilds all the Land Rovers also made this for a customer in a very striking colour:

I've also bought a 1994 Defender 130 300tdi, which is going through a rebuild at the moment. It's had a tough life working for a construction company. Engine has been rebuilt, suspension overhauled and wiring looms replaced. Now its waiting on the bodywork to be completed before its sent to the paint shop.

Replacement tailgate sourced from eBay UK and shipped to Dhaka.

Seats have been re-trimmed, this steering wheel is on the 90 now.
